Privacy Policy For Undeleter- Recover Files & Data
Privacy Policy for Undeleter
Last updated: 24 September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the Undeleter app ("the App"), published by MobiSaving Technologies ("we", "us"), handles your information. By using the App, you agree to this policy.
1. Your files stay on your device
Undeleter recovers, finds, cleans up and optimises files on your phone. All of this happens on your device:
- Scanning, recovery, duplicate and similar-photo detection, big-file detection and photo/video optimisation all run locally.
- We never upload, copy or send your photos, videos, audio, documents or any other files to our servers or to anyone else.
- We have no servers that receive your files, and we cannot see them.
Every feature works with your internet connection turned off. The App only uses the internet for ads and subscriptions.
2. Permissions we use and why
- All files access (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): lets the App look through your storage for recoverable, hidden, duplicate and large files, and save recovered or optimised files. Android only grants this as all-or-nothing. The App reads what each feature needs and only writes where you ask it to.
- Read/Write external storage (Android 12 and below): does the same job on older Android versions.
- Notifications and foreground service (media processing): shows progress while videos are being optimised, so the work continues if you leave the App.
- Wake lock: keeps a video optimisation running until it finishes.
- Internet and network state: used only to show ads and handle subscriptions.
- Advertising ID (AD_ID): used by Google AdMob to show ads (see section 4).
3. Information stored on your device
The App keeps a small amount of data on your device only. We never receive it. This includes:
- Settings and preferences, such as whether you finished onboarding or rated the App, plus your subscription status.
- A local record of files you removed through the App (the Trash). Removed files are kept inside the App for 7 days so you can restore them, then deleted automatically. Files you clear in Big File Cleaner are deleted straight away, and the App warns you before you confirm.
- Optimised photos and videos, saved to Pictures/Undeleter/Optimised. The App never overwrites your originals. If you choose to replace an original, it goes to the Trash first.
Uninstalling the App or clearing its data removes all of this.
4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob. To show ads and measure how they perform, Google may collect and process:
- your device's Advertising ID,
- your IP address and approximate location based on it,
- device and app information, such as model, OS version and app version,
- how you interact with ads.
We do not control this data or have access to it. Google processes it under its own policies:
- Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/ privacy
- How Google uses data from apps that use its services: https://policies.google.com/ technologies/partner-sites
Consent (EEA, UK, Switzerland and other regions where required): We use Google's User Messaging Platform to ask for your consent to personalised ads. You can change your choice at any time in Settings > Ad privacy in the App.
You can also reset or delete your Advertising ID in your device settings (Settings > Google > Ads on most devices).
Premium subscribers do not see ads. The ad SDK is not initialised for them.
5. Subscriptions (Google Play Billing)
Premium subscriptions (weekly, monthly and yearly) are handled entirely by Google Play. We never receive or store your payment details. Google Play only tells the App whether you have an active subscription. You can manage or cancel a subscription in the Google Play Store under Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions.
6. Ratings and feedback
If you rate the App, a high rating takes you to the Google Play Store. Any written feedback you type in the rating dialog stays on your device and is not sent to us.
7. Data sharing and selling
We do not sell, rent or share your personal information. The only third parties involved are Google AdMob (ads) and Google Play (billing), as described above.
8. Children's privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child's information has been collected through the App's ads, please contact us.
9. Security
Your files never leave your device, so their security depends on your device. Data exchanged with Google's ad and billing services is encrypted in transit by those services.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete your personal data. We do not hold personal data about you on our side. For data processed by Google for ads, you can use your consent settings and Advertising ID controls above, or contact Google directly.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above will show when it last changed. Continuing to use the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
